District Governor Dave Dalby

DG Dave was born in Provost, AB, the first of two children in the Dalby house. Raised on a farm in the Czar area, Lion Dave graduated from Hughenden Central High in 1961. He attended University of Alberta, Department of Education, and then taught school for 9 years before moving on.

He joined Hughenden Lion’s Club in 1988, and transferred to the Smoky Lake Lions Club in l990.

He has served his Club as President twice, Secretary, Treasurer, and Membership Chair. At the Cabinet level Lion Dave has served six years Zone chair in 37B, and four years as Lions Foundation of Canada Chair in District 37-I.

District Governor Dave received a Melvin Jones Fellowship from 37B Cabinet. And has also been presented with the International Presidents Certificate of Appreciation.

DG Dave has attended numerous mid-winter conferences, MD and District Conventions. And he has attended the USA CANADA LIONS LEADERSHIP FORUM in Edmonton, and Saskatoon, as well as the MD37 Regional Leadership Institute in Calgary in 2005.

DG Dave married his High School sweetheart Kathleen in l962. They have 3 daughters and 6 grandchildren which keep them busy. Lion Kathleen is a member of the Smoky Lake Lions Club, and Lions Kathleen and Dave have resided in Smoky Lake area since 1990.

DG Dave is a hunter and it’s hard to get any work out of him in the fall.
